4-6 Script Pages

4-6 Script Pages  I am currently working on pages 4-6 of the script, the thickest part of the story This is when character arcs and motives need to become clear to the audience and to themselves  I will do some story mapping before writing the bulk of the story to make sure of plot threads make sense  Professor Bartlett will be my main guide through this writing process

Location Scouting

Keeping my Locations in Mind As I write my script I keep my intended locations in the back of my mind  My story relies heavy on location, it is the bedrock of the meaning of my story.  My locations included an apartment building in D.C., a upscale grocery store, a corner store, and local shops All my locations reflect the forever changing neighborhood in D.C. and the black and white suburban clash that is happening from the inside.

Meeting with Professor Bartlett

Meeting with Writing Guide I trust my former screenwriting and playwright professor to look over my treatment and screenplay to point out flaws and direct me towards stronger story telling.  We have created an overall schedule for meetings and checkpoints for story and script development  I have sent my treatment and first part of my script for review from Professor Bartlett My goal is to have at least a 10-page script to fully tell my story

2-3 Pages of Script

2-3 Pages of script Completed! I have now started working on the script  I use my treatment as pacing and story references  I am using Writerduet for my screenwriting software  While talking to individuals with close connections to D.C. and how they see the gentrification happening in the neighborhood.  The process of reaching out to fellow filmmakers for feedback and crew has also begun

Treatment Draft complete

My 1st draft of my treatment is complete!  My story has a three act construction with an inciting incident  The story is about gentrification in a south east D.C. neighborhood  We focus on a 15 year old girl to see the changes in a young girl's eye I have reached out to various individuals for feedback and critics and improvement on my treatment  Before I completed my treatment I conducted research on the history of gentrification in DC and the ramifications it has on the the market and social scene of D.C. today.
